This week I was in Eau Claire, WI with a Friend. We had an amazing time! Thank you, Eau Claire.
BUT… within the first 30 minutes (no lie) of exploring this unique, charming city, we were witness to one young man who wanted to jump from a bridge to end his life and another young man (relatively), not a 100 yards away, who was overdosing on SOME drug (I have no idea what drug) In both these instances, we witnessed the Police, the Fire Department, and the Paramedics in action. I would also like to include the 911 operators as we ended up calling.
This post is simply to express HUGE GRATITUDE and say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to ALL who serve in these roles in our communities! As I watched all this unfold, I could not help but think how “thankless” these jobs could be… I can’t imagine the two young men “helped” that day will ever get the chance to say ”thank you”… but I can! I saw what you did, how professionally you all acted, the efficiency, the expert care, the compassion, and simply “doing what needed to be done.” I saw!
THANK YOU! I KNOW you do not hear that enough! I KNOW you will NEVER hear it enough for all you do, often in the shadows. But YOU ARE SEEN! YOU ARE VALUED! YOU ARE APPRECIATED!
